This year, the Grand Marshal will be the Vietnam Veterans from the 1963-1975 Conflict. We want to honor and welcome home the Veterans from Greenfield who were born, raised, and went to school in Greenfield. We want to thank them for their service to our community and to our country. Any Veteran who would like to ride in the parade, please contact the Greenfield Fire Department at 731-235-2645 and leave a message so that we may register you for that day.

Tuesday, October 7, 2014

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
*  Senior Citizens Center Chili Luncheon at Park Pavilion. Menu will be chili, dessert, and drink for $6.00.  Contact is Billy Godwin: 731-235-2815.  Donations will be accepted for a country ham to be given away on Saturday, October 11 at noon.  Chances are $1.00 each. All money goes to the Nutrition Site and Senior Citizens Center.

5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
*  Greenfield Booster Club to selling BBQ sandwiches in the middle block.

3:00 p.m.  – 11:00 p.m.
*  Popes Concessions will be open Tuesday, October 6th through Saturday, October 11th, from 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.  They will have cotton candy, sausages, corndogs, burgers, etc.  Come on by!

* Fire Prevention Festival Kick-off Breakfast at the Greenfield City Park Pavilion

*  The Greenfield Fire Department will be sponsoring a spaghetti supper – $7.00 per plate.  Supper will be held at the Greenfield Elementary School Cafeteria. Fundraiser proceed to be used to buy equipment.  Contact is Ray Ann Dudley at 731-235-3803 or any member of the Fire Department

NOTICE :   ARMBAND SPECIAL PRICE ON THURSDAY:
You must bring 3 or more canned goods to get a $7.00 price for armbands.
This special price has been partially paid for by donations from the merchant community of Greenfield. The canned goods will go towards Sacks Food Pantry, a community sponsored outreach providing food for needy families in the Greenfield area.  The pantry is a member agency of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in Nashville and RIFA Food Bank in Jackson, Tennessee.  Sacks Food Pantry operates out of Sacks Thrift Avenue (resale shop), 2161 N. Meridian Street, Greenfield and is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 to 5.  For more info, contact Wendell Jellison at 731-514-6397.

Concessions will be available by the Greenfield Booster Club and Meridian Church. The Greenfield Booster Club will be selling Bar-B-Que by the pound. Located on the corner across from the Greenfield Banking Co.

7:00 a.m. –
*  Vendor set up at the Greenfield Fire Station and on streets
*  Registration for 5K Run begins under American Flag in front of Greenfield Banking Co.

8:00 a.m. –
*  Annual 5K Run will begin at 8:00 a.m. in front of Greenfield Banking Co. under the American Flag with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m.  For more info, contact is Keith Tucker at 731-235-9027. Entry fee is $20. T-shirts for all participant runners. 1st place trophies for overall male and female, 1st place trophies for master male and female, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group. Age groups in 5 year increments.  All proceeds go toward Project Graduation.
*  12th Annual Arts and Crafts Show held at the Mini-Park and in the middle block downtown Greenfield.  Set-up Saturday by 8:00 a.m., October 11. Space is limited. Reservations : call Greenfield Banking Co. at 731-235-2207 and  ask for Alice Ann Yeargin. There is no fee for booth space. No provisions for bad weather. Vendors are not allowed under awning.

9:00 a.m. –
*  Open House begins at Greenfield Fire Station with Antique Fire Trucks Display.  Children can meet Smokey the Bear, Fire Pup, and take free fire truck rides.
*  All exhibits  and displays open
*  Various groups and organization bake sales on Front Street
*  Greenfield merchants sidewalk sale
*  Finger printing of  children for ages 1 – 12 years:
Conducted by the TN Masons Lodge #159, and assisted by Weakley County Sheriff’s Department and TNCHIP Program
*  LIFELINE Blood Mobile 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Free blood pressure checks on the blood mobile.
*  Air EVAC helicopter arrives
*  Dr. Nathan Porter Library Used Book Sale until 1:00 p.m.
*  Tennessee National Guard 1171st Trans. Co. / 230th Engineering Battalion Pedal Car Display
*  Hospital Wing Helicopter from Memphis on display until 12 noon.
*  Carnival in the south block with rides for all ages.

10:00 a.m.  –
*  K-9  Demo Tennessee State Bomb and Arson will demonstrate their skills.  Unit will Display their Equipment.
*  Princess Tea Party from 10 – 11 a.m. in the Greenfield Community Room —  This event is for ages 4-8 years. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is required at Greenfield City Hall. There are only 30 spots available. This event is sponsored by Mayor Cindy McAdams.
*  Fire truck rides in middle block

10:30 a.m.  –
*  Madison County Fire Department  Display and demonstrate Rescue 5

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. –
*  Meridian Church will have a hamburger meal for cost of $6.00. They will be located in the middle block. Contact is Sherman Perry: 731-514-6783

11:00 a.m.
*  Hospital Wing arrives and Air EVAC departs

11:15 a.m.
*  Bag Pipes play in front of Greenfield Fire Station

11:30 a.m.
*  Emergency drivers meeting in front of station.   All apparatus drivers need to attend.

12:00 noon
*  Drawing for Country Ham Giveaway, Greenfield Senior Citizens Center (from October 7 Luncheon)
*  Parade line up on Evergreen Street, starting at Greenfield Products Road headed south along the west side of the street.  (Right side of street.) This is for General Public.  Invitations extended to all floats, cars, trucks, horses, and walking entries. All four wheelers and ATVs will only be allowed if the driver is 18 years of age or older.  Bagpipe Band will perform during the parade.  For more info, contact Elaina Miller or Lorre Stout at Greenfield Banking Co. – 731-235-2207.  If you have questions about horse entries, call Danny Powell at 731-235-3997.  You will be required to have a negative Coggins test to put your livestock in the parade.
