This year, the Grand Marshal will be Robert Ed Skinner. Robert Skinner is proud owner of Skinner’s Sheet Metal of Greenfield. He is a huge advocate of giving back to the community. He has contributed over a decade of service to Greenfield through the New Involvement Club, Greenfield Fire Department, and Greenfield City Council. He has also served in the 1174th Trans Company for 28 years which includes two tours in Iraq.

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
*  Senior Citizens Center Chili Luncheon at Park Pavilion. Menu will be chili, dessert, and drink for $7.00.  Contact is Billy Godwin: 731-235-2815.  Donations will be accepted for a country ham to be given away on Saturday, October 10 at noon.  Chances are $1.00 each. All money goes to the Nutrition Site and Senior Citizens Center.

NOTICE :   ARMBAND SPECIAL PRICE ON THURSDAY:
You must bring 3 or more canned goods to get a $7.00 price for armbands.
This special price has been partially paid for by donations from the merchant community of Greenfield. The canned goods will go towards Sacks Food Pantry, a community sponsored outreach providing food for needy families in the Greenfield area.  The pantry is a member agency of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in Nashville and RIFA Food Bank in Jackson, Tennessee.  Sacks Food Pantry operates out of Sacks Thrift Avenue (resale shop), 2161 N. *  Annual 5K Run will begin at 8:00 a.m. in front of Greenfield Banking Co. under the American Flag with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m.  For more info, contact is Keith Tucker at 731-235-9027. Entry fee is $20. T-shirts for all participant runners. 1st place trophies for overall male and female, 1st place trophies for master male and female, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group. Age groups in 5 year increments.  All proceeds go toward Project Graduation.
*  12th Annual Arts and Crafts Show held at the Mini-Park and in the middle block downtown Greenfield.  Set-up Saturday by 8:00 a.m., October 11. Space is limited. Reservations : call Greenfield Banking Co. at 731-235-2207 and  ask for Alice Ann Yeargin. There is no fee for booth space. No provisions for bad weather. Vendors are not allowed under awning.

*  Open House begins at Greenfield Fire Station with Antique Fire Trucks Display.  Children can meet Smokey the Bear, Fire Pup, and take free fire truck rides.

*  K-9  Demo Tennessee State Bomb and Arson will demonstrate their skills.  Unit will Display their Equipment.
*  Princess Tea Party from 10 – 11 a.m. in the Greenfield Community Room —  This event is for ages 4-8 years. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is required at Greenfield City Hall. There are only 30 spots available. This event is sponsored by Mayor Cindy McAdams.

*  Parade line up on Evergreen Street, starting at Greenfield Products Road headed south along the west side of the street.  (Right side of street.) This is for General Public.  Invitations extended to all floats, cars, trucks, horses, and walking entries. All four wheelers and ATVs will only be allowed if the driver is 18 years of age or older.  Bagpipe Band will perform during the parade.  For more info, contact Elaina Miller or Lorre Stout at Greenfield Banking Co. – 731-235-2207.  If you have questions about horse entries, call Danny Powell at 731-235-3997.  You will be required to have a negative Coggins test to put your livestock in the parade.

Information & Rules

~There is a $40 (non-refundable) entry fee per contestant to be submitted with registration form. Side awards – FREE.
~ Make checks payable to TN Soybean Festival.
~ Absolutely NO applications accepted after Friday, August 21, 2015. There will be NO registration or payment at the door. No Exceptions.
~ There will be a $5 admission charge for anyone not participating in the pageants. 1 adult is admitted at no charge per contestant.
~ No one is allowed behind stage beginning with contestants in the Petite pageant (4-5). There will be plenty of assistants backstage with your child. One female adult is allowed per child in the dressing room. No men are allowed in the dressing rooms.
~All pageants are for girls only. All pageants will have 1 queen & 4 alternates. Judges decisions are final.
~ Queens only will be required to participate in activities designated by the Soybean Festival Committee. This may include 1-2 activities during the school day. Queens Only in the 4-5, 6-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-21 are required to attend the Mayor’s luncheon and ride in the Soybean Festival parade on Sept. 8, 2015. More information will be given the day of the pageant.
