Officials of the Tennessee Soybean Festival have announced the nightly musical lineup for the 2017 Soybean Festival.

Tuesday, September 5:

  • “Live and Let Die” a symphonic tribute to Paul McCartney
  • FREE ADMISSION

Wednesday, September 6; UT- Martin Student Night:

  • Echosmith
    • Known For: Cool Kids, Bright, Tell Her You Love Her and many more
  • The first 2,000 UT- Martin Students with ID’s will be admitted for free
  • Ticket cost: $5

Thursday, September 7:

  • Clint Black
    • Known For: Desperado, Killin’ Time, You Still Get to Me and many more
  • FREE CONCERT: to the first 3,400 to enter the gate

Friday, September 8:

  • Air Supply
    • Known For: Making Love Out of Nothing at All, All Out of Love, Lost in Love and many more
  • Ticket cost: $5 – $15

Saturday, September 9:

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd
    • Known For: Free Bird, Simple Man, Don’t Ask me no Questions and many more
  • Ticket cost: $35 – $50

Miss University of Tennessee at Martin & Miss Tennessee Soybean Festival

Every November the University of Tennessee at Martin holds their annual combined scholarship pageants for Miss University of Tennessee at Martin and Miss Tennessee Soybean Festival.

The winners of the Miss University of Tennessee at Martin pageant receive scholarships towards their education at UT Martin. Miss University of Tennessee at Martin receives $1500, first runner-up $500 and second runner-up $200.

The winner crowned queen of the Miss Tennessee Soybean Festival receives either a scholarship of $1500 towards her UT Martin education, or if not a UT Martin student she is awarded a $500 scholarship to the school of her choosing.

The pageant is divided into 5 categories: Private Interview, Lifestyle and Fitness, Talent, Evening Gown and On-Stage Question.

  • First Runner-up: Amanda Mayo, of Lawrenceville, Ga.
  • Queen: Brenna Wilkins, of Union City, Tenn.

Miss Tennessee Soybean Festival (L-R)

  • Queen: Laura Ann Higgs, of Toone, Tenn.
  • First Runner-up: Hannah Minear, of Atoka, Tenn.
  • Second Runner-up: Mallory Tidwell, of Bradford, Tenn.

Miss Wilkins plans to use her reign as Miss University of Tennessee at Martin to support her platform on depression and suicide awareness on college campuses. For her talent portion Miss Wilkins performed the vocal selection of “Unlove You” by Jennifer Nettles.

Miss Higgs plans to use her reign as Miss Tennessee Soybean Festival to support her platform entitled “Team Mica: Suicide Awareness and Prevention”. For her talent portion Miss Higgs performed a unique jazz dance.
