    • Weakley County is great to visit anytime. The spring brings the Dresden Iris Festival and the Rodeo. Summer has picnic and barbeque weather, and great shopping in downtown Martin. Fall brings the annual Soybean Festival, a week-long celebration featuring pageant and talent contests, festival food and midway, dozens of vendors and their crafts, and big name musical guests [Kansas, Diamond Rio, and Uncle Kracker for Soybean Fest 2011]. The winter season brings a full calendar of events to celebrate the holidays. To see a calendar of upcoming events, you can click here: http://www.weakleycountytn.gov/community_calendar.htm.

As far as genealogy, I’m sure you have seen the Weakley County Genealogical Society’s page: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tnweakle/Weakley_Co_Historical_Genealogical_Society.html .
You can also contact the local libraries in Weakley County to see what they have in the way of research resources.
